1. AI-Assisted Service — Not Professional Advice

Axle provides an AI-assisted vehicle diagnostic service ("Axle") that generates estimates and suggestions based on reported symptoms, publicly available repair data, forum discussions, and real-world repair references. Axle is not a certified mechanic, automotive engineer, or licensed professional of any kind.

All results produced by Axle are estimates only. They are intended to help you understand possible causes of a vehicle symptom and to inform conversations with a qualified repair professional. They are not a substitute for an in-person inspection by a licensed mechanic.

2. No Guarantee of Accuracy or Outcomes

Axle makes no representations or warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose of any diagnosis, cost estimate, repair instruction, or other content generated by the service.

Vehicle diagnosis depends on factors that cannot be assessed remotely — including physical inspection, diagnostic scan tools, and professional judgment. Axle's output may be incorrect, incomplete, or inapplicable to your specific vehicle. Axle does not guarantee any outcome resulting from following its suggestions.

3. User Assumption of Risk

By using Axle, you acknowledge and agree that:

• ▸You assume all risk associated with any DIY repairs or maintenance you perform on your vehicle based on information provided by this service.
• ▸Improper vehicle repairs can result in serious injury, death, or property damage. Always consult a qualified mechanic before performing any repair involving brakes, steering, suspension, fuel systems, electrical systems, or structural components.
• ▸You are solely responsible for verifying any information provided by Axle before acting on it.

4. Subscription and Billing

Axle offers a free tier and a paid Pro subscription. The following terms apply to the Pro subscription:

• ▸Price: $9.99 USD per month, billed monthly.
• ▸Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time.
• ▸Payment processing: All payments are processed securely by Stripe. Axle does not store your payment card information.
• ▸Free tier: The free tier includes a limited number of AI diagnoses (currently 3 lifetime). This limit may change with notice.
• ▸Price changes: We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice to your registered email address.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Axle and its operators, affiliates, licensors, and service providers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to:

• ▸Vehicle damage, mechanical failure, or total loss resulting from repairs performed based on Axle output.
• ▸Personal injury or death resulting from DIY repairs informed by this service.
• ▸Financial loss resulting from incorrect cost estimates or repair recommendations.
• ▸Any other damages arising from your use of or reliance on the Axle service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid to Axle in the three months preceding the claim.

6. Content Sources and Intellectual Property

Axle synthesizes diagnostic content from publicly available sources including automotive forums, YouTube repair videos, technical service bulletins, and general repair knowledge. This content is processed and summarized by AI; it is not copied verbatim from copyrighted repair manuals or proprietary databases.

Axle does not claim ownership over vehicle manufacturer data, technical service bulletins, or third-party forum content referenced in its outputs. All trademarks and brand names belong to their respective owners.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Axle to: submit false or misleading vehicle information, attempt to reverse-engineer or scrape the service, or resell diagnostic output without permission. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that abuse the service.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to your registered email address. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
